The Adventurer's Guild: The Blue Dragon Pub

Now this lot is rowdy!

The Critter Chorus is singing another acapella rendition of one of Lady SaGa’s pop operas.

Several humanoids are gathered close to them raising their mugs and cheering, a couple of minotaurs are kissing.

Opposite the small crowd, the bored secretary is watching without a soul in sight of the front desk. Their role was a simple one- Greet the graduates, let them have their party, then keep an eye on their behavior.

Keenly, they sneak checks on the door to await the others who have yet to join the “fun”, and also help any of those who don’t enjoy such festivities a way to find a quieter place to discuss their entry if they’re not there for the party.

“At least there’s a really hot orc,” they think to themselves. “All the best classes have a really hot orc or half-orc.”

“Don’t,” said a foul voice. It took her somewhere she couldn’t understand.

Secretary awoke with a startle, not sure what they were dreaming. The party had quieted down at this point, and the class lead had just finished giving her pep talk.

Still, Secretary Kenku calmly waited, watching the door. They knew more would come, it’s why they’re still working. They weren’t from the local school this year. Certainly, even a monster like themself became an adventurer…

@kobold asked for a die roll:

Secretary Kenku is rolling a willpower check against waiting for others to enter.

She has will via her willpower, so she does not gain disadvantage on this challenge.

Difficulty: 12

+4 willpower
+4 PL (Proficient Secretary)
+4 will (this is her main goal today, and she cannot exert will again until she rests)

Advantages: 3

  • Expertise
  • Perceptive
  • Proper

Disadvantages: none

5d6kh2+12: 5 + 5 + 4 + 5 + 2 = 24 (including +2 from matches)

Duchess the kobold struts through the front door and moves beside Secretary Kenku, who opens their eyes and glances over Duchess’s presence. “Oh, it’s you,” she says cheerily.

“Yes, it’s me, I’m glad you remember. It’s been two years! Where have you been?”

Secretary Kenku shakes her head. “No, we’re not to talk about that at the moment.” They stand up suddenly, and extends the full plumage of her arms to gently grasp Duchess by the arms. “It is good to see you again though, but come with me now.”

“But-” Duchess is dragged off towards the offices in the back. Secretary Kenku drops her off to wait, then returns to the front desk, once again attending her post.

(Note: The previous 24 roll is still in effect, if you wish you challenge being able to be perceived by Secretary Kenku, such as by sneaking by, or somehow subduing her ability to sense you. (THINK LIKE A HERO.))
